We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated, results-oriented operations professional effectively lead assembly supervision and supervise hourly materials organization in support of operational goals and requirements at our compressor manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will lead four assembly supervisors who manage the OEM assembly lines, Remanufacturing assembly and backshop operations at CSM. The production manager will also act as supervisor for the materials department. The successful candidate will assist plant manager in implementing manufacturing strategy to maximize utilization of equipment, labor and material in a highly specialized, low volume mixed model production environment. The production manager along with their supervisors will be responsible for applying of continuous improvement and lean transformation methods in an effort to reduce work related injuries, improve production efficiency and reduce costs.


**RESPONSIBILITIES:**


+ Provide oversight regarding the performance of all production and shipping/receiving employees in order to meet operational goals including cycle time reduction, productivity improvements, quality improvements, and cost reduction

+ Directly supervise, develop and set objectives for salaried/hourly employees within the group

+ Assist both salaried and hourly employees in maximizing potential and contribution to plant objectives through effective coaching, mentoring, counseling and accountability

+ Ensure that production orders and scheduled delivery dates are achieved

+ Ensure proper staffing levels are set and maintained

+ Work with supervisors to propose and implement changes to existing processes to streamline and improve overall performance while maintaining cost controls and creating cost effective use of resources

+ Lead assembly efforts for assistance in achieving Quality goals such as FPY, Escapes, COPQ, scrap reduction and quality holds

+ Ensure manufacturing standard work, ACE principles and visual factory standards are followed and improved throughout facility

+ Work with quality, engineering, maintenance and materials groups to ensure production goals are met within budget and assembly line issues are mitigated efficiently

+ Partner with Human Resources to effectively and efficiently manage employee time/attendance and disciplinary procedures are administrated

+ Work with supervisors and support departments to minimize downtime

+ Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to oversee process controls in the area

+ Ensure a safe workplace by embracing all EH&S initiatives and activities; demonstrate a regular and visible commitment to EH&S; Implement plant and departmental objectives for safety, ergonomics and environmental initiatives

+ Empower and support first line supervisors to enforce and adhere to company policies

+ Facilitate the resolution of employee relations issues within the work groups

+ Foster an environment of continuous improvement

+ Assure communication meetings with associates are held on a regular basis to promote alignment with departmental objectives

+ Keep team members engaged and motivated by fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace, keeping employees informed, and providing actionable and meaningful feedback


**Qualification:**


+ Minimum 5-7 years progressive responsibility in manufacturing

+ Experience leading teams to impact positive changes and outcomes

+ Documented lean manufacturing training

+ Experience in working in assembly and fabrication areas Experience with supervising materials, shipping/receiving processes and procedures

+ Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

+ Ability to make informed decisions and suggestions quickly

+ Strong communication skills with ability to interact within a cross functional team

+ Ability to coach, motivate and lead hourly employees

+ Sense of urgency and ownership

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

+ Willingness to work extra hours, including weekends, as necessary


**Education:**


+ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business or applicable equivalent from an accredited university preferred
