Manager, Marketplace Merchandiser - Marketing
Major Responsibilities:

+ Provide expertise in Site Merchandising to apply to the development, implementation and improvement of action plans.

+ The position works cross functionally with purchasing, pricing and the vendor teams to manage CPO's marketing and promotional activities across the various marketplaces.

+ Develop and plan the visual merchandising and seasonal channel strategies of departments and campaigns.

+ Identify and establish department, category, or campaign level key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmarks and forecasts.

+ Work closely with the Channel Managers to analyze and utilize online metrics to use as the basis for product optimization which will drive traffic, conversion, exposure and demand.

+ Review and evaluate customer demand and marketplace sales trends to determine where to place products for sale / promotion.

+ Collaborate with cross functional business leaders to drive business objectives and influence channel sales strategies.

+ Provide direction to Marketplace design teams on promotional creatives.

+ Partner closely with merchants and elevate any upcoming key buys / price actions on the various marketplace channels - i.e. Product launches, price actions, etc.

+ Work closely with CPO Merchandising team and Marketplace account reps to set up deals and promotions for all marketplace channels. Be a proactive meditator between the Merchant team and Marketplace channels

+ Work directly with Vendors and /or Merchant team to plan and execute National Vendor Sponsored Promos

+ Develop a quarterly Marketplace promotional calendar.

+ Participate and potentially lead bi-weekly calls with Marketplace account reps on promotional planning and follow up discussions

+ Execute Promo Price updates (some may occur after hours)

+ Propose subsidy requests and monitor subsidy performance and payment. Approve subsidy contracts. Communicate Subsidy data to the pricing and accounting teams.

+ Analyze promotional performance on the marketplace channels and report findings to Marketplace, Pricing and Merchant teams

+ Work closely with each of the Marketplace Channel managers on promotional planning. Propose opportunities to the marketplaces and jockey for prime promotional site placement

+ Oversee the marketing initiatives on the Marketplaces: Sponsored Listings on Amazon; Promoted Listings on eBay; HALO program on eBay. Execute CPC marketing strategy and analyze reporting. Research additional promotional opportunities on other channels.

+ Responsible for adhering to the monthly Marketing spend budget. Report marketing spend to Accounting team.

+ Work with Merchant team on Vendor funding for promotional and marketing efforts on the marketplaces. Keep track of deal placement and performance for reporting purposes.

+ Understands and demonstrates Essendant's Core Values and Guiding Actions.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge Required (Begin with words like Basic, Intermediate, Strong, Excellent, Expert, etc.)

+ Comfortable organizing and conducting meetings / conference calls

+ Intermediate Level Excel: Working knowledge of Excel, specifically VLookup, Formulas and Pivot Tables

+ eCommerce category management or merchandising / marketing are essential

+ The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, work well with cross -functional teams and effectively communicate to all internal and external stakeholders.

+ The position will require a demonstration of analytical skills as well as, creative thinking.

+ Ability to think creatively and propose new ideas and solutions

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical to success

+ Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills needed

+ Ability to meet deadline while maintaining flexibility

+ Ability to multi-task, take ownership of the Marketplace merchandising and marketing projects, prioritize workload effectively and adapt appropriately to a dynamic business sales environment.

Education and Experience (Minimum level of experience and education required to do the job)

+ Bachelor's degree required

+ 4+ years eCommerce experience - Direct site and / or Marketplaces

+ 2+ years of site merchandising experience
